A letter to bid adieu to 2008.

Dear 2008.

It's been one helluva a ride with you. I have been feeding my brand addiction (some of it thanks to my dear parents =) ). I've taken my 'daughter' a.k.a my Candy out to Starbucks. I've had this little blog featured on PayPerPost. I've been away from Malaysia for nearly 5 months now. I traveled alone across a few continents alone for the first time ever in my life. I started the year off single, got attached in February, got dumped in October and now am living a 'it's complicated relationship'. In the span of a year, I left a job, got fired, and then walked away from a job. I've experienced being jobless in another country.I've celebrated Christmas in another country and am going to be celebrating my birthday and Chinese New Year as well here. I'm experiencing the different seasons nature has to offer in miniskirts, lol and freezing to death! I've sat outside in winter drinking hot chocolate (which turns cold really really quickly! And I just did it again today -__-) I'm living my life the way I never thought possible before. I've seen the lights of the whole of Sheffield in 0.5 Celcius. Breathtaking view, yes. Cold, YES. (Not going to elaborate on certain points due to certain circumstances. One of them being I'm not sure who is reading my humble lil' blog).

There's a whole lot more stuff I wish to write here, but at the moment I'm just too knackered to do so. Perhaps I'll add on to this post soon, but IF I do so, it'll prolly be next year as I'm going to London tomorrow! (Have to pack though =/)

So if I don't manage to blog before that, well, dear 2008, I hope things take a turn for the better with 2009.

P.S: Happi New Year, and yes 2008, I'll have a lot to reminisce on when you're gone.

Online advertising industry - Revolutionising the advertising industry.

*Sponsored post*

Let's see. Advertising. Promotion. Ways to spread the word around about a new or existing product, or even about services rendered. The way people (like me) leave comments on others' blogs or websites with our blogs' urls and our chosen nicknames on others' blogs. It is pretty much the same with advertising; spreading the word around, albeit in many other new and different ways.

Oil prices have gone up and are going down now (and it sucks that I don't have a car here to enjoy the benefits of cheap petrol prices). Gold prices have dropped (if I'm not mistaken). Exactly what am I getting at here, you must be wondering. It seems that I am digressing, no?

Well, what I am getting at here is that investments in these 'products' or industries in the past would have been really really lucrative with what seemed like 'almost guaranteed' returns. Not any more, I guess. As I just said above, oil prices are dropping (when we thought it never would). I guess it's going through the cylindrical
cycle (did I get it right?). Prices go through a rise and fall. Sigh. I do seem to be digressing here. Anyway to cut to the chase, owning an Online Advertising Agency or working for one doesn't seem like a bad idea right now. I guess even though many different industries and businesses have been hit really badly by the recent economy matters, companies which are still standing will definitely need to render the services of advertising agencies to make sure they stay afloat, especially in trying times like these. And what better way than to reach out to their prospective key markets with advertising professionals who keep the emphasis on innovation?

So take the most brilliant and easy solution and hand over the daunting task of coming up with various advertising and promotional materials and campaigns to the professionals, relax and wait for the results.

Suffering from alcohol's revenge.

Tuesday night - One drink while out with friends at a pub for a birthday dinner.
Wednesday afternoon afternoon - One drink while out with a friend + food.
Wednesday night - 5 drinks during company's Xmas party (yeah, exercised self-control okay)

It was the cocktails during the party, I swear. They tasted so DAMN GOOD (no taste of alcohol AT ALL). But the alcohol kicked in RIGHT HARD AFTERWARDS.

The amazing thing was actually being able to walk back home (albeit a little unsteady). Thank god my friend was there as well, so I got home safe.

Woke up with a slight hangover (left temple pounding) but still managed to make it to work early and I'm fine now.

Countdown for the New Year...where will you do it?

Watching fireworks, in the city, or from wherever you live, or partying out in town or with friends?

I know where I'll be having my countdown this year end.

At last, the tickets have been bought, and the accommodation booked.

London, here I come. Woohoo woohoo!!

Getting inked soon, hopefully.

My mummy's exact words to me after telling her about the design I have in mind and what it symbolizes in both Japanese and Chinese culture, as well as the design's symbolism to myself:

"Whatever works for you. And please make sure the needles are NEW. Stop laughing. I'm SERIOUS."

She even gave me advice on which part of my body to have it done. Bless... -___-"

So now, I'm searching around for an artist who will help me 'modify' to my exact specifications the design I want and have in hand.

Online shopping...again.

But not for myself this time. This time around it's for a friend. For whom I owe much to. It's surprising how quickly circumstances change, but hey, I really do owe him a lot. Without his help I would probably still be jobless after fucking off from my last job.

On top of that, it's also for all his help in 'taking care of me', and by that I mean without him around, I would be walking back alone late at night many days after work.

So yeah, birthday present a bit more mahal than what I would spend on, but I've just paid for it, and since the bloody British Pound is dropping, fuck it.

I just hope you like it. You'd better like it. Apple products are not cheap okay?

P.S: Who reads this and can guess who it's for and what it is, please don't let him know okay? Kthanx! =)

The 6 degrees of separation...is less than what it really is.

How ironic that when attending my housemate's boyfriend (okay, also my friend-lah)'s birthday dinner last night, I find out that out of the 12 people (including me) there, 4 of them are my ex-boyfriend's ex-coursemates?! wtf?!

Coincidences aside, the food was nice =) Kinda small portions though, but still enough for us to help second helpings and had cake as well...

Winter seems to have brought really unexpected circumstances. And I am glad for them.

Law enforcement officers' gear.

5.11 Tactical

*Sponsored post*

I read somewhere the other day that law enforcement officers seem to be looking younger and younger. Heh. Maybe it is just because we are getting older, and so to our eyes they keep looking younger and younger. Or maybe, it is because they have a much wider choice of wardrobe, from different shirts to eyewear.

And I know I am digressing here, but talking about eyewear for law enforcement personnel brings back a memory of a friend telling me to check out the policemen in Italy wearing their aviators sunglasses.

Well, back to the topic, there are no aviator sunglasses on 5.11 Tactical's website which sells all sorts of gear for the law enforcement officer, but the eyewear which is sold there at extremely competitive prices are apparently premium protective eyewear which is a result of the design partnership of 5.11 Tactical's with expert firearms trainer and decorated former U.S. Navy SEAL Jeff Gonzales.

After looking at all the accessories which are available for sale there, it made me realise exactly how many items a law enforcement officer or personnel has to carry when he or she goes about on duty everyday. Respect, really. Accessories meaning things like a back-up belt system, cuff pouch, gun holster pouch, a baton pouch, mace (a much stronger version of pepper spray) pouch,
double mag pouch, ties and knee pads as well. Gosh, that's really a lot of things to carry around on any given day.

Well,I really cannot picture the law enforcement personnel or "mata" (Malaysian street word for law enforcement personnel) back in Malaysia wearing the polo t-shirt or even more so, the shorts. -__- Maybe it is because I have been used to seeing them wear the navy blue uniform since I was young.

Nevertheless, there are freebies in store as well, as the website so aptly put, "they are trying to get the most bang for your buck". As a bargain hunter myself, that sounds right good :)
Freebies include a code for free shipping for orders above $50.00 and other free gifts as well. If it sounds good to yourself, then go have a look and not just take my word for it.

Leaving my bed empty.

It's been 3 days since I last slept in my own bed, and to be quite honest, I don't really miss it all that much. Haven't been doing much sleeping for the past few days anyway, and have been working my backside off. Literally.

I am literally starting to look like this at work:

But a lot less furry and cuter, lol.

On the way to work this morning I noticed that the dew on the grass was frozen. Heh.
Winter is here, and snow is expected to fall this week.

P.S: It doesn't feel like Sunday at all. Sigh. Have a good week ahead.
